For the second time this season, Wichita Southeast has surpassed the century mark on the scoreboard, and done it with ease.
The Golden Buffaloes scored 62 second-half points en route to a 113-72 win over Wichita South last weekend. The 41-point Southeast win snapped South's five game winning streak, following a season-opening 78-66 loss to Wichita Heights.
Adonis Gantt led the assault, with a game-high 24 points. He was backed by a strong supporting cast as Cecil Shaw and Jordan Cyphers also broke the 20-point barrier with 21 and 20-point efforts, respectively. Joe Mitchell chipped in 17 points and Cortez Barnes added 11 points.
Wichita Southeast has eight players averaging at least four points a game and six of those players score at least eight points on average. The Golden Buffalos average 86 points a game this season as a team, while giving up just under 64 points per outing. Southeast has scored 80 points or more on five occasions during its 7-0 start. Their largest margin of victory occurred during the 102-44 season opening win over Wichita West.
Although Southeast has been scoring points in bunches, Gantt is quick to point out that the Golden Buffalo can also play a little defense.
"We don't like to just score on the offensive side," Gantt told the Wichita Eagle. "We like to play defense and make our defense our offense. We like to run off getting our steals and trapping."

Football: Backes' Kansas City All-Metro Football Team - Kansas Side
After sorting out a long list of qualified football players from within the Kansas City metro, and placing them on their proper side of the border, here are my picks for my first annual Kansas City All-Metro football team for Kansas.
There was no science in making my selections. I just studied any numbers I could get my hands on, all-conference teams, all-state teams and the success of each individual player's team. Then after pulling all of my hair out, I just went with my gut.
