The Suncoast Chargers will head out to face off against the Olympic Heights Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Suncoast's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
On Monday, Suncoast made easy work of Glades Central and carried off a 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.
Meredith Kenny was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Kenny was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Williamson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Marli Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Suncoast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Olympic Heights challenged Boca Raton on Thursday. The Lions came up short against the Bobcats, falling 11-5. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost six in a row.
Elsie Throckmorton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Suncoast's record now sits at 4-6. As for Olympic Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Suncoast has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Olympic Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Suncoast suffered a grim 19-8 defeat to Olympic Heights when the teams last played back in March. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
