Seminole is 2-8 against Andrews since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Seminole will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
While Seminole's victory against Greenwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Rangers on Friday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Sunni Casarez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaylee Teichroeb, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Seminole kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Andrews unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Greenwood by a score of 8-7.
Kylie Gentile was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gentile was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, Alexys Cornejo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kenedi Holly was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Seminole's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Andrews, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Seminole hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Andrews struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
