Baseball Game Preview: Everett Warriors vs. Forbes Road

Everett is 8-2 against Forbes Road since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against Forbes Road at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Everett has three straight victories, Forbes Road has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Everett got the win against Berlin Brothersvalley by a conclusive 11-2. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Chase Sherwood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Sherwood was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Levi Cornell was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Johnathan Cooper was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Everett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berlin Brothersvalley only posted an OBP of .269.

Tussey Mountain hit Forbes Road with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Forbes Road took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tussey Mountain.

Forbes Road's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Everett, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Everything went Everett's way against Forbes Road when the teams last played back in April, as Everett made off with a 16-3 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do Forbes Road have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
