Given Hillside's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while North Raleigh Christian Academy is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hillside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samiyah Barker out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Madison Malone was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Hillside now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Hillside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southern Durham at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. North Raleigh Christian Academy is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
