Rye's loss came despite strong showings from Abrianna Chianelli and Taci Ehrlich. Chianelli scored three points along with five steals, while Ehrlich scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Rye's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.6 points per game. As for Buena Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Rye will head out on the road to face off against Colorado Springs Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Springs Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Buena Vista, they will be playing at home against Lamar at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
