Windermere is a perfect 4-0 against Horizon since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Windermere Wolverines will host the Horizon Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Windermere took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Seminole get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Sabrina Boyer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Shaik, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Horizon posted their closest victory since May 17, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Archbishop Chapelle 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Horizon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paisley Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Hernandez hit this season. Another was Lila Hernandez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Windermere back to even at 3-3. As for Horizon, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Windermere has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windermere took their victory against Horizon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. Does Windermere have another victory up their sleeve, or will Horizon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
