Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Central Cabarrus' Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Central Cabarrus won the last time they faced Lake Norman Charter and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings blew past the Knights 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Central Cabarrus let Sophia Wellons and Haley Rezy run wild. Wellons went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Rezy scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Rezy has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Renee Roseman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Central Cabarrus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Norman Charter only posted a batting average of .143.

Central Cabarrus is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Norman Charter, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central Cabarrus is set to face off against their familiar foe West Rowan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.8, the Falcons 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter will square off against rival East Rowan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
