Fort Hancock is 1-9 against Anthony since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fort Hancock Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Anthony Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Fort Hancock has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three games.
Fort Hancock pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 83-58 defeat to Wink might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Fort Hancock has suffered against Wink since January 17, 2020.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Emmanuel Herrera, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Juan Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Anthony beat McCamey 47-36 on Tuesday.
Fort Hancock now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Fort Hancock came up short against Anthony in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 67-55. Can Fort Hancock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
