Lopez has gone a perfect 7-0 against Porter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lopez Lobos will host the Porter Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lopez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Donna with a sharp 17-1 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won seven in a row.
Chalene Granado made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three runs, three doubles, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenny Shank, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Ferni Pulido was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2.
Lopez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Porter hadn't done well against Edcouch-Elsa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Porter narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Edcouch-Elsa 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cowboys as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Mia Sosa was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Miley Cortez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Selene Garcia also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
The win got Lopez back to even at 7-7. As for Porter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Lopez skirted past Porter 1-0 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Lopez repeat their success, or does Porter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
