West Jefferson is 10-0 against Northeastern since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the West Jefferson Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Northeastern Jets at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Northeastern took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Jefferson, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, West Jefferson earned a 43-36 victory over Madison Plains.
Meanwhile, Northeastern's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Madison Plains on the road and fell 57-28. Northeastern has not had much luck with Madison Plains recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their loss, Northeastern saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaelynn Bobst, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Tyler Pollock was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
West Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Northeastern, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for West Jefferson against Northeastern in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-19 win. With West Jefferson ahead 43-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
