Softball Recap: Eldred Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Eldred won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Monday too. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Gaeta was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jillian Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Eldred always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted an OBP of .286.

Eldred's record now sits at 8-3. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Eldred didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-1 win against Tri-Valley on the 5th. As for Liberty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 25-6 defeat against SS Seward on the 5th.
