Sodus put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the East Rochester Bombers with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Evan Laird made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Laird was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, Sodus let Jordan Orrange-Paton and Austin Cincinello run wild. Orrange-Paton went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple, while Cincinello got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Orrange-Paton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braydn Orbaker, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sodus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive games.

Sodus pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Rochester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, East Rochester will face off against Lyons at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Sodus will be paying especially close attention to the Bombers' contest: after the Bombers face off against the Lions, they'll take on Sodus again at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
