West Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 48-21 win over
Chattahoochee (Alpharetta, Ga.).
The Wolverines put up 20 points in the opening frame. West Forsyth scored on a
Gabe Pierce touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Trevor O'brien and a
Hampton Mcconnell touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Pierce in the first quarter, WF led 34-0 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 34 at the start of the fourth.
The victory avenged West Forsyth's close 29-28 loss to the Cougars last season.
The loss was the third in a row for Chattahoochee. The win brought West Forsyth's winning streak to four games.
West Forsyth (6-2) goes up against South Forsyth in a AAAAAA Region 6 game matchup next week, while Chattahoochee (3-5) locks horns with Lambert also in a AAAAAA Region 6 game.
