The Okeechobee Brahmans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Port St. Lucie at home by a decisive 44-30 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Okeechobee has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Okeechobee still got an impressive performance from Oliver Saunders, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Saunders scored a full 63.3% of Okeechobee's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was John White iii, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Port St. Lucie had a senior duo take command as Makhari Chambliss scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and Ryan Rodriguez scored 12 points along with three steals. The contest was Rodriguez's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Okeechobee's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Port St. Lucie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Glades Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. As for Port St. Lucie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
