The Kingsland Knights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Crestwood on Saturday as Kingsland made off with a 60-39 win. This was payback for Kingsland, who suffered a 62-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Kingsland was led to victory by Max Erdman and Jayden Brink. Erdman scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, while Brink scored 16 points along with 4 steals. Ayden Howard was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Kingsland's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Crestwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsland will take on Schaeffer Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Crestwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Decorah-North Winneshiek at 8:00 p.m. Decorah-North Winneshiek will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
