Walsh is 0-10 against Springfield since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Walsh Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Springfield Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. Walsh has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 12.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-17, which was the final score in Walsh's tilt against Boise City on Tuesday. Walsh was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.
Averi Kunselman was Walsh's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Kunselman also led the team in rebounds with seven.
Ava Alley took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, Springfield suffered a tough 59-38 loss at the hands of Stanton County on Tuesday. Springfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Walsh dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Springfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Walsh was taken down by Springfield 55-23 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Walsh was down 34-11.
