Section 5 Livingston III recap October 1, 2013
Geneseo scaled the state rankings by moving to 499 from 579 this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Livingston III. The Blue Devils were able to move up by besting Canisteo-Greenwood 51-20.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Cuba-Rushford beat York 52-30. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Cory Dillon threw for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Jake Vannorman had an awesome week catching the football as the Golden Knights lost to Cuba-Rushford. He caught 8 passes for 235 yards.
Ray Garland was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 125 yards on 22 carries as York fell to Scott Card's team. Ryan Lowden also contributed to the rushing game with 18 yards on the ground.
On the heels of Dillon and Christian Hollister, Perry has had great success on offense. Dillon is tops in the league in passing with 765 yards, while Hollister has rushed for 398 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Eric Amorese's team's Vannorman, with 303 yards on 13 catches.
The top two teams in Section 5 Livingston III will face off this week when first place Cuba-Rushford takes on second place Perry.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Yellowjackets take on the Rebels. Perry has allowed 72 points this season, while Cuba-Rushford has given up 78. Jeremy Ohlson's team allowed 0 points last week as it bested Bolivar-Richburg.
The Yellowjackets took down the Wolverines 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dillon ran for 57 yards in the win.
