After flying high against the Westinghouse Bulldogs on Wednesday, the Union Area Scotties came back down to earth. Union Area received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 62-46 to Neshannock. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union Area has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Union Area still got an impressive performance from Rocco Galmarini, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Blakely, who scored five points.
Union Area has fallen quite a ways from their 25-4 record last season and are now at 3-6. As for Neshannock, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Union Area is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sewickley Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Sewickley Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Neshannock, they will head out on the road to face off against Beaver Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Beaver Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Neshannock is ranked 79th).
