Grafton is a perfect 3-0 against Braxton County since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Grafton will bounce into Monday's game after beating University, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Bearcats blew past the Hawks 15-7 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

JW Nestor was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wilfong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Grafton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Braxton County). They put the hurt on Calhoun with a sharp 17-9 victory on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Luke Kelly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Braxton County got a massive performance out of Owen Lowther, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. The Eagles are 2-1 when Lowther posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-18 otherwise. Landon Mays was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Braxton County's win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-19. As for Grafton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
Braxton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grafton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Braxton County, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Grafton's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Grafton beat Braxton County 5-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
