Newton Falls is 8-2 against Liberty since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Jabriel Rufai was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carson Howard, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Liberty suffered their closest loss since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Brookfield by a score of 60-57. Liberty has not had much luck with Brookfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Newton Falls pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
