Basketball Game Preview: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins vs. Battery Creek Dolphins

The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins will face off against the Battery Creek Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past North 68-43. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson can attribute much of their success to Mark Jamison, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Jamison has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayward Jean, who posted seven points.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Battery Creek played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Oceanside Collegiate Academy and fell 62-35. The Dolphins haven't had much luck with the Landsharks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Battery Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Everything came up roses for Orangeburg-Wilkinson against Battery Creek in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 75-38 win.
