The Taylorsville Tartars extended their postseason success on Friday against the Simmons Blue Devils. They walked away with a 22-12 victory over the Blue Devils. Winning may never get old, but Taylorsville sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Taylorsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laza Beavers, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Simmons lost, one person who can't be blamed is Prentavis Madison. Despite the final result, he rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Taylorsville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Simmons, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-1.
Taylorsville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Velma Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Velma Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Taylorsville likes a good challenge. Simmons does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
