Owen is a perfect 10-0 against Mitchell since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warhorses will head out to square off against the Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. Owen will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Owen made easy work of Madison and carried off a 13-1 win. The Warhorses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Sophie Neal made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Mia Roland and Elly Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Roland went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Wright got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Norton, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI.
Owen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Mitchell got the win against Avery County on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3. The victory continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.
Brianna Nutter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracie English, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Olivia Ollis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Owen's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mitchell, their record now sits at 7-11.
Mitchell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Owen has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Mitchell, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Owen's sizable advantage in that area, the Mountaineers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Owen took their win against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhorses since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
