McPherson scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Buhler, 44-28. At the time, the Crusaders was ranked ninth in the state, while the Bullpups was 83rd.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to McPherson, who took down ninth ranked Buhler, 44-28. Kyler Kinnamon threw for 393 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Tom Young's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Austin Obannon chipped in 86 yards. Keaton Sorenson helped McPherson's passing attack out by catching six balls for 106 yards.
Marcus Houghton was the best wideout in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III this week as the Bullpups bested Steve Warner's team. Houghton tallied six receptions for 149 yards.
Mulvane's Ty Redington and Alex Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Redington has thrown for 831 yards this season, while Evans, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 25 catches for 527 yards. Obannon from McPherson leads the league in rushing with 346 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bullpups take on Winfield. McPherson is currently in third, while the Vikings are in second.
The Wildcats extended the longest winning streak in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III this week by beating El Dorado, 42-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
