Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Clinton Central's Fourth in Last Five Outings

If Clinton Prairie wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clinton Central, they should've done a better job of containing Carly Davison. Everything went the Clinton Central Bulldogs' way against the Clinton Prairie Gophers on Saturday as the Clinton Central Bulldogs made off with a 51-25 victory thanks in part to Davison, who went 8 of 16 en route to 22 points along with seven assists and seven boards. Her afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Dellinger, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Clinton Prairie lost, don't look at Abbey Swan. Despite the final result, she posted nine points. Swan is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Clinton Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Clinton Central will venture away from home to square off against Blackford at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Clinton Prairie, they will welcome Rochester at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Clinton Prairie has won four straight at home, while Rochester won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
