Silverado is 0-4 against the Gaels since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Silverado Skyhawks will be playing at home against the Bishop Gorman Gaels at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Silverado's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
Even though Durango scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Silverado still came out on top. Silverado enjoyed a cozy 85-66 victory over the Trailblazers. Given Silverado's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Trailblazers are ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayden Goss and Cyril Franklin were among the main playmakers for Silverado as the former scored 28 points along with two steals and the latter scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goss has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Fralin, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bishop Gorman's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 72-65 to Liberty. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Silverado's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-9. As for Bishop Gorman, their loss dropped their record down to 19-5.
Silverado ended up a good deal behind the Gaels in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, losing 76-59. Can Silverado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
