Baseball Recap: Caro Has No Trouble Against Imlay City

Caro never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Imlay City on Friday. They blew past the Spartans 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mark Warren looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Max Grice, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Trentin Hessling was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Caro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Caro pushed their record up to 13-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Imlay City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Caro will take on Garber at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Imlay City, they will face off against Croswell-Lexington at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
