Basketball Recap: Ellis Mitchell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Covenant Classical over Southwest Christian School

Covenant Classical lost against Southwest Christian School back in November of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cavaliers took a 74-59 bruising from the Eagles. The Cavaliers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Covenant Classical lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ellis Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Noah Leshner was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 16 points and six boards.

Covenant Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Southwest Christian School, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Covenant Classical has already played their next game, an 86-33 loss against McKinney Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Southwest Christian School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-61 win against Mabank on the 14th.
