Collins is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Somerset is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Collins Titans will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Somerset Briar Jumpers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Collins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Somerset is ranked 40th).
Collins pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Scott 71-65.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Somerset sidestepped Pulaski County for a 49-47 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Somerset has scored all season.
Collins now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Somerset, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
