Spring has gone a perfect 10-0 against Nimitz recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will square off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Spring knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Nimitz likes a good challenge.
It was a proper cat-fight when Spring faced off against Dekaney on Friday. The Lions blew past the Wildcats 18-0. Considering the Lions have won 11 games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mikayla Zepeda looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hailey Jones-Calais was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Monica Kirk also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Spring always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.
Meanwhile, Nimitz unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Eisenhower by a score of 11-10.
Josephine Bilbao made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Antinia Wilson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Spring's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Nimitz, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Spring hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. However, it's not like Nimitz struggles in that department as they've averaged .412. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Spring's way against Nimitz in their previous matchup back in March, as Spring made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
