St. John XXIII was sadly handed a loss on Tuesday, but Alexa Ramirez did her best to prevent it. Ramirez wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. The pitching appearance was her third straight with two or fewer walks.

Coming up, Ramirez and St. John XXIII will square off against Concordia Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are 8-2 against the Crusaders going back to February of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
