The Macomb Bombers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knoxville Blue Bullets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Macomb has four straight wins, Knoxville has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Macomb has not done well against Illini West recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Macomb came out on top against Illini West by a score of 41-33.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Knoxville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-32 loss to Elmwood on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Knoxville in their matchups with Elmwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Macomb is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Knoxville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18.
Macomb strolled past Knoxville in their previous matchup on Saturday by a score of 53-37. Will Macomb repeat their success, or does Knoxville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
