Softball Recap: Berwick Wins Going Away Against MMI Preparatory School

Berwick got themselves on the board against MMI Preparatory School on Tuesday, but MMI Preparatory School never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over MMI Preparatory School. The match marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Makayla Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Emma Welsh and Morgan Siegel did most of the damage at the plate: Welsh went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Siegel went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs Siegel has posted since back in April of 2024. Kennedy Hunter was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Berwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Berwick now has a winning record of 4-3. As for MMI Preparatory School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berwick will host Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for MMI Preparatory School, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hanover Area at 4:45 p.m.
