Julian Fernandez Drops League-Best  Effort  on Friday
 Starting off the list is Corcoran's  Julian Fernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Fernandez picked up  a  sack, forced a fumble,  and made four total tackles.
 Corcoran now  has a winning record of 4-3. A feisty cat fight will be fought when  Panthers faces off against Orosi at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday.

Tony Alvarez's Big Game Leads Corcoran over Orange Cove
 Another Corcoran player making an appearance on this list is  Tony Alvarez. He threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown.
 This season,  Alvarez  has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 203.7 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season,  he was only averaging 71.86  passing yards per game.

Lindsay Wins Third-Straight Thanks to  Ethan Cortes
 Lindsay picked up their third consecutive win   on Friday thanks in part to  Ethan Cortes. Nobody could stop  Cortes as he rushed for 47 yards.
 For the year,  Cortes  has averaged 54.4 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season,  he was only averaging 26.86  rushing yards per game.

Big Game from Colunga As Strathmore Fell 20-19
 While  Isaiah Colunga delivered a dominant  performance  on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Strathmore. Colunga was dynamite, rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 165 yards  on seven of 19 attempts.
 With the  loss, Strathmore broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. Colunga and Strathmore will square off against Granite Hills at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday.

Jose Cortes Makes It Two for Lindsay
 The second Lindsay player making an appearance here is  Jose Cortes, and for good reason. He rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
 Unfortunately for Farmersville, this isn't the first big game they've seen from  Cortes. Back in October of 2023 (the last time  Cortes saw the Aztecs), he rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
