After a string of seven wins, College Station's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to the Huntsville Hornets 57-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Hornets are ranked 318th).

College Station's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Huntsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the College Station Cougars take on the A&M Consolidated Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Huntsville, they will be home for the holidays to greet Brenham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntsville is facing Brenham at the right time seeing as Brenham is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
