Crosby posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They really took it to Port Neches-Groves for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-23 win at home. Given Crosby's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Port Neches-Groves is ranked 934th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Emori LaSalle was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamaya Clark, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Nederland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 43-20 walloping at the hands of Goose Creek Memorial. Nederland has not had much luck with Goose Creek Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Crosby has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Nederland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-26 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Crosby against Nederland in their previous matchup on January 2nd as the squad secured a 65-22 win. With Crosby ahead 33-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
