Saluda is 10-0 against Abbeville since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Saluda Tigers will be playing at home against the Abbeville Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Saluda's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Abbeville has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Saluda was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-43 to Mid-Carolina. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Saluda in their matchups with Mid-Carolina: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-23, which was the final score in Abbeville's tilt against Mid-Carolina on Friday. While losing is never fun, Abbeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Mid-Carolina is ranked 110th).
Saluda's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Abbeville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Saluda against Abbeville when the teams last played on January 10th as the squad secured a 50-22 win. Will Saluda repeat their success, or does Abbeville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
