The South Portland Red Riots will face off against the Scarborough Red Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Portland 2.4, Scarborough 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Scarborough will be up against a hot South Portland team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Red Riots walked away with a 6-2 win over Thornton Academy on Tuesday.

Hudson Iacuessa made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Barrett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jude Charltray, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Scarborough came out on top against Westbrook on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Red Storm put the hurt on the Blue Blazes with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Red Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Scarborough also got a great performance from Liam Vines as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Finn Coburn was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Matthew Fallona was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases.
Scarborough's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for South Portland, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. South Portland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Scarborough struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
