COVINGTON, La. - the Hawks scored 33 points in the second quarter to secure a big 43-0 victory over St. Helena Central (Greensburg, La.) on Saturday.
Archbishop Hannan scored on a touchdown run by
Michael Froeba, a
Korey Zeigler touchdown pass to
Kyle Sewald, a Zeigler touchdown run and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Payton Hudson in the second quarter, AH led 33-0 at the half.
The Covington school grew its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. The Hawks' lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown.
Archbishop Hannan came in allowing an average of 21.6 points per game this season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for AH, which was coming off a 20-7 defeat at the hands of Northlake Christian in its previous game.
