This season hasn't been kind to the Elkhart Lions, who are still winless after their 14th game. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tippecanoe Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, Elkhart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 166th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tippecanoe Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Cooksey, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Davis Cowan, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Elkhart bumped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhart will take on Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Plymouth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. Tippecanoe Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th.
