Drew is 1-9 against International since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Drew Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the International Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Drew focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
After a string of four wins, Drew's good fortune finally ran out. They took a 62-44 bruising from San Francisco Waldorf. Drew has not had much luck with San Francisco Waldorf recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Teo Kimball-Directo, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 15 times he's played.
Meanwhile, even though Gateway scored an imposing 60 points on Thursday, International still came out on top. International snuck past Gateway with a 66-60 victory. Given International's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Gateway is ranked 1067th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Drew's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for International, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Drew suffered a grim 54-32 defeat to International when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Drew avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
