The Berkmar Patriots won against the Meadowcreek Mustangs last Friday with 69 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Berkmar walked away with a 69-59 victory over the Mustangs. Given Berkmar's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Mustangs are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meadowcreek's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adonai Mussie, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Mussie hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Damari Wright, who scored 13 points.
Berkmar is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Meadowcreek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Berkmar will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meadowcreek, they will be playing at home against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Discovery is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
