Saraland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Theodore Bobcats a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The win was the third in a row for Saraland, bringing their record up to 27-10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Theodore, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Saraland beat the Bobcats by a score of 18-0 later that day.
