Allen County recap October 1, 2013
Leo extended the longest winning streak in Allen County this week by beating Heritage, 35-12. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Adams Central moved up to 199 from 225 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Flying Jets climbed the ranks as a result of topping South Adams 32-22.
Woodlan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Corbin Smith threw for 159 and 2 touchdowns and Greg White had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Jaylin Bennett chipped in 191 yards.
Bennett provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Warriors defeated Garrett. Bennett's favorite target this week was White, who caught 3 passes for 142 yards.
White was the best wideout in the league this week as Woodlan topped the Railroaders.
The leading receiver in the league this season is White. The Woodlan star has 14 catches for 340 yards.
The top two teams in Allen County will face off this week when first place Leo takes on second place Woodlan.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Sherwood Haydock's team takes on Leo. The Warriors' offense has scored 211 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Jared Sauder's team has allowed only 37 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Lions take on Woodlan. Leo has allowed 37 points this season, while the Warriors have given up 95.
Woodlan took down Garrett 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Smith in the win.
