St. John Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla joy Bowen led the charge by shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bowen has scored at least 25% of St. John Lutheran's points. Another player making a difference was Layla Salman, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
St. John Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for First Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will take on Countryside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Countryside Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. As for First Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hernando Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
