The Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen lost against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Denbigh Baptist Christian took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.
Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylee Stewart, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Carr, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Denbigh Baptist Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Denbigh Baptist Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Isle of Wight Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Denbigh Baptist Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome the Gators at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (StoneBridge: 22.9, the Chargers: 28.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
