The Greenbrier Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Macon County 51-47. Greenbrier lost against Macon County in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-57 score last time.
Macon County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laityn Kirby, who scored 15 points along with five assists and four steals. Kirby has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kaydence Walrond was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Greenbrier's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Macon County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenbrier will take on White House at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (White House is ranked 143rd, while Greenbrier is ranked 164th). As for Macon County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Station Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Station Camp will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
