Overland has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Grandview Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Overland beat Arapahoe 56-48.
Overland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Siraaj Ali led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five assists and four steals. Aidan Perez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Grandview came into Wednesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Smoky Hill with a 60-54 win on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Grandview's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Smoky Hill is ranked eighth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grandview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Riddick, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. Riddick hasn't dropped below two blocks for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Noah Sevy, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Overland's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. As for Grandview, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.
Overland skirted past Grandview 51-48 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Does Overland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grandview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
