The Providence Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Christian Academy Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Providence put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 54-27 win over Rock Creek Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Providence has posted since December 8, 2023.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Paoli 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Christian Academy has posted yet this season.
Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Renfro out in front who scored 18 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Chancey, who scored 16 points.
Providence's record now sits at 11-3. As for Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Providence strolled past Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 51-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
